“For Skin O2, the Commonwealth Games were the busy weeks of playing the ‘sport of business’. A big thanks to Craig & Courtney Ford from Trade Adviser – a TradeStart Australian Industry Group”  explains  Alison Atia – Skin O2 Managing Director.

TradeStart is an international business initiative of the Australian Government delivered in partnership with the Australian Industry Group (Ai Group). Trade start organised and facilitated a week of support for local businesses. It was held from 6th- 9th April 2018 – at the very commencement of the Commonwealth Games.

The week commenced at the Gold Coast Arts Centre where business-matching meetings took place with a multitude of International retailers from Asia  & UK. Day 2 was a Touch & Taste Expo held at Sanctuary Cove to showcase the best of our local Australian produce. The week finished at the Southport Yacht Club for informative talks, panel discussion and a networking event, to fully empower and engage our business communities.

We even had the pleasure of hearing about local success stories and market opportunities from Mr. Paul Jaffer – Director of the Pharmacy Guild & Chempro Partner. The Chempro Chemist group is a sizeable enterprise and now, constitutes around 80 stores in Queensland and is one of the states strongest and fastest growing community-based pharmacy models.

“Networking with like-minded, caring fellow QLD business players, was a great experience to showcase talent and innovation that our sunshine state can produce. Our staff and team are very excited over at Skin O2 HQ to have signed new international businesses. We have just put on new staff and are looking to expand our Burleigh business operations to support the demand. “says Alison.
